Today is the special day all of our Mothers are honored!
For me this is going to be my Mother's Year!!
She was never one for pomp and glamour. In fact, I think she was happiest when she had her day to day routines like cleaning, cooking, and picking up after everyone. I have never understood the selflessness that goes with this job description. She told me I would someday when I become a mother. Maybe I just need more humility.
This is what she has taught me. Humility is one thing you can't achieve in life because you are always learning it. It doesn't make you who you are, but what you do.
It's making sure that you do the right things even when no else is looking.
It's having the courage to hold your head high even when you know that you've been defeated.
It's making up your mind to sacrifice a life to make another life happy.
It's being honest with yourself about EVERYTHING.
It's being able to laugh at yourself about EVERYTHING!
It's managing all the necessities in life without comprising your character.
It's above all things NOT about me.
It's loving the Creator and Ruler of Heaven and Earth.
It's caring when you don't have the energy to care.
It's a neverending job that is done with neverending joy!!
I love my mother. May she rest in peace with Her Maker.
